Census Numbers are In
Many choosing Fort Saskatchewan as home
FORT SASKATCHEWAN, ALBERTA, (June 4, 2015) – The 2015 Municipal Census has been completed and the data shows that our current population is 24,040. This is a 5.4% increase over 2014.
“It’s very exciting to confirm what we know from living in this community. Lots of families are moving in and it adds to the vibrancy and sustainability of our wonderful community,” commented Mayor Gale Katchur.
In all, 10,669 households completed the census and 44 percent of those households used the on-line option.
A final report with more detailed information such as age breakdown, number of households and size of households will be available by the end of July. The City uses this information when applying for government funding and for planning purposes.
Fort Saskatchewan is a vibrant economic and cultural hub located just 15 minutes northeast of Edmonton on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River.
