Construction Update: March 28, 2017
High Performance Sports Field
Building Contractor is onsite. Foundation work is complete. Masonry work has started on both buildings
The Tender for the supply and installation of artificial turf has closed and being reviewed.
Civil works are shut down for the winter. Work is expected to start up in April.
The new ice plant is complete. Seasonal deficiencies to be complete in spring.
The final design concept is being completed for the renovation project. The Construction Manager has been selected. Detailed design is beginning. Hazardous Material Abatement and interior demolition is scheduled to begin in later April.
Historic Precinct Washrooms
Work is nearing completion on the washrooms.
Seasonal deficiencies and access will be completed when weather permits.
Transportation Master Plan
Work will continue through the winter to complete the report for Council and Public presentation. Draft findings are expected in early April.
Southfort Drive Widening
The RFP for design has been awarded. Detailed Design is underway.
Harbour Pool Universal Change Room
The RFP for the design of the new change room has closed. The project has been awarded and design is beginning.
Water Meter Radio Upgrade
The RFP to install radio reads on 2,800 water meters has closed. The project was awarded to Corix.
Work is scheduled to begin April 18. Affected residents will be informed once a schedule has been set.
Installation of Foundation Drain Services
The project will be re-tendered this week due to pricing with the original tender.
Public input in to the concepts is being evaluated. The final concept is being developed based on the feedback received.
Design for the rehabilitation of Ross Drive is underway. Letters to affected residents advising of the construction have been sent. More detailed information will be provided once a contractor is selected.
Construction tender is scheduled to be posted March 30.
The tender to reline sewer mains has closed. The tender has been awarded. Work will take place in Pineview and 101 Street, resident notifications will be completed once the contractor has refined their schedule.
City Facility Roof Replacements
Roofs on Harbour Pool, Legion, CN Station, and the James E. Graham Building will be replaced this summer. Work is expected to begin on the CN Station in late March, weather dependent.
Historic Precinct - Court HouseWindows and Doors on the Court House are being refurbished this summer. Work will start this spring and is expected to continue throughout the summer.
The City of Fort Saskatchewan endeavours to keep residents and visitors up-to-date about ongoing City construction projects.

The City of Fort Saskatchewan is developing a Pre-qualified contractors list for miscellaneous work up to $50,000 in value. The pre-qualification process consists of a safety questionnaire, a qualifications questionnaire and a listing of the work contractors are interested in.
The pre-qualified list will be used to request quotations for small contracts that come up during annual operations. Contract values are expected to be below $50,000 per contract.
Documents will be continually accepted and contractors added to the list. It is anticipated that interested contractors will be required to update their information on an annual basis.
