Fort Saskatchewan population continues to grow
FORT SASKATCHEWAN, ALBERTA, (June 6, 2017) – The 2017 Municipal Census is complete, and the official population of Fort Saskatchewan is now 25,533 which is a 3.9% increase over 2016.
A total of 11,087 households were accounted for and 48.7 percent of those households completed their census online, up marginally from the 47.6 percent who completed the census online in 2016.
A final report with more detailed information such as age breakdown, number of households and size of households will be available by the end of July. The City uses this information for planning purposes and for applying for government funding.
Fort Saskatchewan is a vibrant economic and cultural hub located just 15 minutes northeast of Edmonton on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River.
