New CAO Announced
Familiar face in the role
New CAO announced for Fort Saskatchewan
FORT SASKATCHEWAN, ALBERTA (July 12, 2017) – A familiar face will take over as Fort Saskatchewan’s new CAO.
On Monday, July 10 city council unanimously agreed to offer interim City Manager Troy Fleming the position.
Fleming came to Fort Saskatchewan in December, 2012, as general manager of corporate strategy. Since then, his title has changed to general manager of infrastructure and planning, and in January he took over as interim city manager following Kelly Kloss’ departure.
Mayor Gale Katchur was pleased Fleming accepted the position, commenting “Troy has been excellent to work with and brings innovative ideas to the City. He gets along well with council, and I know he’ll bring clear guidance to administration.”
Fleming shared his goals for City staff. “The workplace is much more fulfilling if we challenge ourselves to raise the bar. We are in the people business. You are going to hear a lot of talk about customer service and finding innovative ways to serve our stakeholders over the next few years.”
Fleming will transition from interim to permanent city manager in the next few weeks.
