YouthFest is a celebration
The Youth Action Club (YAC) and the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Saskatchewan, are hosting the first ever YouthFest. With oversight from the City of Fort Saskatchewan, local youth are planning, organizing and executing this inclusive event. The festival will feature food trucks, mini bikes go-karts, public art, yoga in the park and youth performances. Information booths will also be on site to showcase local community agencies and businesses. The event is free and will be held in Legacy Park on Saturday, August 19 from noon to 3 p.m.
“We want to give Fort Sask youth a public venue to share their talents with the community and to have a space for kids to just be kids,” said Krista Allan, Youth and Family Coordinator. “This event is open to everyone, and we encourage people of all ages to attend.”
Designed to celebrate and highlight all the contributions youth make to a vibrant community, YouthFest provides a positive and safe space to showcase talents. Youth can also engage directly with service providers in the community, learn about resources and discover employment opportunities.
