PUTTING SNOW ONTO THE STREET CAUSES HAZARDS

Bylaw C1-94 prohibits homeowners from placing snow from driveways and sidewalks onto city streets. This excess snow is a hazard to motorists. Please be considerate and keep our streets safe for everyone.

SNOW REMOVAL PRIORITIES

FIRST PRIORITY

  1. Highways
  2. Arterial & Collector Streets (Main Streets)
  3. Central Business District (CBD)

SECOND PRIORITY

  1. Residential Streets
  2. Lanes
  3. City Parking Lots

City staff work 11 pm – 4:30 pm on weekdays, and 4 am – 2 pm on weekends to provide optimal snow removal services. If it begins to snow again before the crews have completed plowing the snow in residential areas, they have to revert back to the highways, main streets and CBD first and then the residential areas. A map of snow removal routes is available at fortsask.ca/maps.
