The City of Fort Saskatchewan Business Development Program offers five unique grants that were developed, in partnership with local business, to help accelerate the growth and development of small businesses and spur commercial property owners to invest in improving substandard property.

The Business Development Program will be offered for 3 years, from 2016 through 2018. Applications for 2017 will be accepted beginning January 16, 2017 until the deadline date of November 1, 2017.

Grants range from $500 to $25,000 with a total of $60,000 in funding available for 2017.  Submitting an application does not guarantee a grant or a specific grant amount. All project proposals are subject to a comprehensive review of application and required information, must reflect the spirit and intent of each grant. Grand funding will be allocated on a case-by-case basis subject to the approval of the Economic Development staff, until the budget has been spent or the program year has ended.

Each grant has it's own unique  requirement, however generally the grants are available to business owners with a Resident Business Licence and/or owners of commercial property located in Fort Saskatchewan.
