Under the Alberta Safety Codes Act, Electrical, Plumbing, and Gas Permits (Safety Code Permits) are required whenever electrical, plumbing or gas systems and equipment are installed, altered or relocated. The contractor or the homeowner (if doing work themselves) must obtain a permit prior to commencing work.
Application forms can be obtained below or from the Planning and Development Services front desk.
A Safety Code Permit ensures that electrical, plumbing or gas systems are inspected upon completion and meet current Code. For information on how to arrange an inspection, please visit our Inspections page.
