Enrich Your Life.

The Alberta Lottery Fund Art Gallery is open every Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and during evening performances taking place in the Shell Theatre.

This gallery is located in the heart of the Sherritt Cultural Pavilion at the Dow Centennial Centre and features new exhibits on a regular basis.

The March exhibit at the Alberta Lottery Fund Art Gallery will showcase the work of celebrated local artist, Lois Hamilton, and guest artist Phyllis Trufyn.  Lois will unveil twenty new pieces of flora and fauna from around the world and from her own backyard. She has beautiful watercolors of flowers and landscapes that everyone will enjoy. She is bringing back a few of the her favorite pieces that she knows will delight visitors to the gallery.

Also featured at the March exhibit are the watercolours of guest artist, Phyllis Trufyn. Trufyn is a local artist who was born in Athabasca and grew up in Lac La Biche. At a very early age, Trufyn started creating a variety of arts and crafts. She has been perfecting her watercolour talents since 1990.

Lois Hamilton has been painting for most of her life and has had shows throughout Alberta.  Hamilton has also had pieces on display in England, The United States and across Canada.  Her recent work features watercolours of flowers and beautiful scenery. Lois loves to paint and get enjoyment out of seeing a picture come to life on the canvas.

Phyllis Trufyn enjoys painting nature at its best and this exhibit will feature a variety of subjects such as flowers, fruits and vegetables, birds, leaves, and scenery. The vivid colours in her paintings are indicative of her passion for gardening and nature.

A “Meet the Artists” opening reception will be held on Saturday, March 13th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Alberta Lottery Fund Art Gallery that is located in the Sherritt Cultural Pavilion in the Dow Centennial Centre in Fort Saskatchewan. The exhibit is open to the public every Thursday and Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. from March 4 to March 26 and prior to shows at the Shell Theatre.
