Economic Development Board
PURPOSE:
In accordance with the Economic Development Board's Terms of Reference, the mandate of the Economic Development Board is to:
- Provide timely and strategic advice to Council on matters pertaining to economic development, investment/business attraction, and longer term economic sustainability;
- Recommend an Economic Development Strategic Plan (or updates/revisions to the plan) to Council;
- Assist and work with Administration in implementing the City's Economic Development Strategic Plan; and Provide guidance and direction on other issues referred to it by Council, or brought forward by other organizations/stakeholders within the community.
MEMBERSHIP:
Membership of the Board is comprised of the following members:
• Mayor of the City of Fort Saskatchewan;
• One (1) member of City Council;
• Four (4) members of the public-at-large (three year term);
• One (1) member of the public-at-large representing the local tourism industry
(three year term)
• One (1) member representing the Northeast Capital Industrial Association
(three year term); and
• One (1) member representing the Fort Saskatchewan Chamber of
Commerce (three year term).
MEETINGS
Regular meetings are held monthly on a date and time to be determined by the Board.
