Seniors form an active, vibrant, and appreciated segment of community life in Fort Saskatchewan. Many enjoy meeting one another at Pioneer House, a comfortable facility where friends can visit or just relax and read a book.
 
Drop-ins of all ages are always welcome. Visitors will find a hot cup of coffee waiting, and pancake breakfasts and luncheons are often held. A host or hostess greets every new arrival and is happy to answers questions and provide information.
 
Pioneer House offers a number of services including income tax assistance and health services, such as flu, foot, and blood pressure clinics, as well as meeting and banquets facilities.
 
Recreational activities include:
  • Bocci
  • Tai Chi
  • Card games such as bridge, canasta, cribbage, and military whist
  • Carpet bowling
  • Choir
  • Dancing including square, round, and social dancing
  • Floor curling
  • Games such as dominos, scrabble, shuffleboard, and snooker
  • Painting
  • Writing groups
