What the priorities are...
Council engaged City management, staff and the public in consultation sessions in late February 2008. As a result a number of issues and opportunities were identified for Council consideration in setting strategic priorities for the next three years. A summary of the issues and opportunities is outlined in the City of Fort Saskatchewan's 2008-2011 Strategic Priorities document below.
At subsequent strategic planning workshops, Council identified a number of priority areas for the City to address over the next three years. The priorities were assessed by Council as to the level of urgency or importance and whether or not the priority was political or operational.
The most urgent of those priorities have been included in the Council's Strategic Priorities Chart for action in the next several months. The balance are documented and will be acted upon as circumstance and staff capacity allow.
In April 2009, Council and senior staff met to update the Strategic Priorities based on tasks completed, new priorities and the draft Municipal Sustainability Plan. The updated Strategic Priority Chart is available below.
