Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification

 
Are you interested in becoming a certified instructor through the Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association (AFLCA)?
 
The City of Fort Saskatchewan is pleased to offer 44 hours of approved instruction in Exercise Theory and Group Exercise Fundamentals in conjunction with a Portable Equipment Designation Course. 
 
AFLCA Exercise Theory (24 hours)
Within the context of fitness, learn the basics of anatomy, physiology, nutrition, adult learning and program planning.  Although the course content is mostly theory, there is a small practical component, so please dress comfortably and bring your exercise gear.
 
Friday to Sunday, October 22, 23 & 24, 2010: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm

AFLCA Group Exercise Fundamentals (12 Hours) with Portable Equipment Designation (8 Hours):
 
This practical course will give you some of the tools and preliminary experience needed to teach fitness classes that incorporate portable equipment.  Be prepared to be very active during this hands-one weekend!
 
Friday, November 5, 6, & 7, 2010: 5:00 - 9:30 pm
Saturday to Sunday: 8:30 - 5:30 pm

AFLCA Resitance Traing Specialty Course 
Inspire others...become an AFLCA certified resistance-training leader! this 20-hour course expands on your learning from the AFLCE Exercise Theory course, covering topics such as leading circuit training classes, conducting introductory weight training programs, monitoring fitness centres. and/or weight room orientations. Esplore topics such as techniques and precautions, exercise analysis, anatomy, program design, nutrition and more. Cost includes informative manual.
