The Seniors Coordinator provides support, information, referral, and advocacy to enable seniors to remain as independent as possible, while maintaining dignity and an optimum quality of life. The Seniors Coordinator supports seniors and their families by:
- helping them find solutions to their concerns
- providing information and supportive referrals to community resources
- assisting with goal planning
- offering advocacy support
- ensuring the program is accessible by meeting with seniors in their home
All services are free of charge and we will visit you in your home.
Annual full day conference for older adults held each fall season. This event offers a showcase of 'hands on' learning opportunities for the older adult population with breakout sessions and a keynote speaker.
Do you care for an aging parent, spouse, friend, or other person close to you? Would you like to connect with other people in similar situations? The caregiver support group meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month in Pioneer House (10102 - 100 Avenue) at 1:00 p.m.
The Friendly Visitor Program is a volunteer program that provides a community connection for seniors who may be living alone, have limited social contacts or who are experiencing social isolation. Volunteers help seniors stay connected to their community and reduce social isolation by providing social contact, companionship, and support.

Seniors Week in Alberta is held annually during the first week of June.
The City of Fort Saskatchewan honours local seniors each year by hosting a celebration at the Dow Centennial Centre.
Save the Date for 2018! The Seniors Tea will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2018.
The City of Fort Saskatchewan offers a volunteer snow removal program to assist seniors with a disability or medical condition in the community. Applicants must be referred to the program by their family physician, or existing clients of the home support, or home care program can be referred. Applicants must also meet an income level requirement.

Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels delivers nutritious meals to Fort Saskatchewan residents. Anyone who finds meal preparation difficult and would benefit from this service can apply. Meals are delivered to your door Monday to Friday. The cost is $6.50 for each meal. Meals cancellations are done by calling 780-992-6267 before 9:30am that day.

Fort Saskatchewan Adult Day Support Program
Provides structured recreation, socialization, exercises and a nutritional meal to dependent adults.

The Special Transportation Services Society (S.T.S.S.) is a group of dedicated community volunteers who oversee the operation of the Taxi Voucher Subsidy System.
