June is Recreation and Parks Month
City of Fort Saskatchewan is excited to celebrate Recreation and Parks during the month of June.
This year, Recreation Services will celebrate “Recreation and Parks Month” by hosting the Legacy Park Family Fun Run on June 3. We have also created a unique interactive calendar to promote physical activity and help increase awareness of recreation services and the vast amount of parks areas in the community. The Mayor will give a proclamation on June 6, 2017 at the Dow Centennial Centre at 10:00 am.
“Fort Saskatchewan is very fortunate to have a variety of recreation and parks systems. Recreational activities enhance quality of life of all our residents and visitors. Rain or shine, there’s always plenty to do in the City,” says Mayor Gale Katchur.
The Recreation and Parks June calendar will be available on the city website or hard copies can be picked up at City Hall, Dow Centennial Centre or Harbour Pool. This interactive calendar allows residents to click on the date for more information on the activity that day. Residents are encouraged to tweet the activities on the calendar to @FortSaskRec using the hashtag #FORTFIT or email their photos to be entered into a draw for prizes (one entry per day).
