Sheep 25 LogoIn case you did not know, this year marks the 25th Anniversary of the City of Fort Saskatchewan’s Sheep Grazing Program!  Every year, to honour our environmentally friendly pals, we celebrate Sheep Week during the week leading up to the September long weekend – this year it is August 30 to September 4.   The City’s social media outlets are filled with sheep facts, pictures, crafts and highlights of our favorite woolly friends.  Using the hashtag #SheepWeek, you too can get involved on Twitter and Facebook. Follow us on Twitter @cityfortsask, find us on Facebook or check out our website to get in on the sheep fun!

Enter our #FSsheepie contest to win a great prize. Take a photo with you and a sheep and submit it through Facebook or Twitter with the hashtag #FSsheepie. Winner will be chosen on Tuesday, September 5th.

To end off Sheep Week join in the Sheep leaving Parade on Monday, September 4, at 11:00 am at the Fort Heritage Precinct.  Our warm and fuzzy flock will lead a parade of sheep fans and followers from the Precinct through downtown and back. It’s how we say “farewell until next year” to our four-legged lawn mowers.

Before the parade, everyone is invited to get a head start on the festivities at the Fort Heritage Precinct with crafts and fun activities starting at 10:00 a.m.  Bring your camera or smart phone. There will be priceless moments to capture.
