Effective as of 3:00 p.m. today, the City of Fort Saskatchewan has officially lifted the fire ban and implemented a fire restriction to regulate the use of fires within city limits. The new fire restriction allows residents to engage in the following fire-related activities without requiring a permit:

Transfer Station moves to weight system for disposal fees

The Fort Saskatchewan Transfer + Eco Station site will be closed on Monday, June 5 in preparation for a new system that will weigh all waste brought to the station. As of Tuesday, June 6, all site users will be charged for their garbage materials based on weight rather than volume. A fee of $0.16/kg will apply to all garbage and non-Fort Saskatchewan resident branches and yard waste. Mattresses of any size will cost an additional $15 per unit.

Tourism Hosting Grant Awarded to Mesa Tennis Tournament

The City of Fort Saskatchewan has awarded $1,200 through its Tourism Hosting Grant to the Mesa Tennis Tournament. The grant will be used for hosting the upcoming Senior Tennis Tournament in Fort Saskatchewan. The tournament will be held on July 11 - 14 at both the Carscadden and Turner Park Tennis Facilities.
