The West River's Edge Boat Launch is now OPEN for the season.
Please note that the boat launch may close without notice due to changing river conditions.
Here are some boating basics1. Always wear a lifejacket or personal flotation device!Don't just have it in the boat, wear it.

Local Artist Selected for 2023 Art in Public Places Program

The City of Fort Saskatchewan has officially announced the winning artist selected for the 2023 Art in Public Places program.
Local resident and artist, Trisha Sheppard, is the 2023 winner in the program’s adult category. Her art is acrylic paint on canvas titled “AN ARTIST VIEW”. The title is a nod to Trisha’s view on another style of art. Her inspiration came from a Vancouver artist who paints much of the west coast. The Mayor’s State of the City Address on April 5, 2023 to the Fort Saskatchewan & Lamont Regional Chamber of Commerce included a major announcement for the future of hydrogen energy in Canada. Aurora Hydrogen has received approval to build a demonstration plant at the Sherritt Technologies facility in Fort Saskatchewan. Council Approves Partial River Road Closure to Create a Multi-Use Trail

At the February 28 Council meeting, Council approved the plan to close a portion of River Road to vehicle traffic. The portion to be closed is northeast of the entrance to the Fort Lions Campground and southwest of 119 street. The nearly two-kilometres portion of the road will be converted to a multi-use trail for cyclists and recreational users.
