New regulations in effect for noisy vehicles

City Council approved an amendment to the Traffic Bylaw C17-22 December of 2022 to help regulate the noise from vehicles within City limits. The change was made to deal with excessive noise that results in a significant number of complaints to the RCMP and Municipal Enforcement.

City Council passed the 2023 Property Tax Bylaw at the May 9 regular council meeting. The Property Tax Bylaw is based on the City’s approved 2023 operating budget of $90.0 million and a capital budget of $29.0 million.

Sirens to be tested on Monday, May 8

As part of Emergency Preparedness Week May 7 – 13, Fort Saskatchewan’s emergency sirens will be tested on Monday, May 8 at 11:00 a.m. The sirens will wail loudly for the test duration.

Fort Saskatchewan operates three emergency sirens located across the city. These sirens are in place to alert residents of emergencies, such as:

  • Severe weather events, including droughts, windstorms, snow or ice storms, hail, rainstorms or tornadoes;
  • Wildfires;
  • Power Outages;
