After rocking Canada Day with live music last year after a long absence due to the pandemic, The City is pumped that Canada Day 2023 is another full-on Canadian music celebration live and in person!

The Fort Saskatchewan Transfer + Eco Station site will be closed on Monday, June 5 in preparation for a new system that will weigh all waste brought to the station. As of Tuesday, June 6, all site users will be charged for their garbage materials based on weight rather than volume. A fee of $0.16/kg will apply to all garbage and non-Fort Saskatchewan resident branches and yard waste. Mattresses of any size will cost an additional $15 per unit.

Tourism Hosting Grant Awarded to Mesa Tennis Tournament

The City of Fort Saskatchewan has awarded $1,200 through its Tourism Hosting Grant to the Mesa Tennis Tournament. The grant will be used for hosting the upcoming Senior Tennis Tournament in Fort Saskatchewan. The tournament will be held on July 11 - 14 at both the Carscadden and Turner Park Tennis Facilities. Focus on Water Smart drowning prevention efforts
The City of Fort Saskatchewan is working to save lives and to prevent water-related injury. Between the years of 1999 and 2019, an average of 30 people per year became victims of fatal drownings in Alberta. In addition, for every fatal drowning that occurred there was an average of 6 non-fatal drownings that resulted in an emergency department visit or hospitalization, totaling 180 emergent non-fatal drownings per year.
