Fort Saskatchewan city council approves municipal property tax reduction of -0.06%

On May 12, 2020 Council passed Bylaw C16-20 reducing the municipal tax increase from 0.44% to -0.06% for both residential and non-residential properties. In addition to collecting property taxes for municipal purposes, the City is also required to collect property taxes on behalf of the Province for education and Heartland Housing Foundation requisitions.

Healthy Communities Need Clean Air Contest

The Alberta Airsheds Council, of which Fort Air Partnership is a member, has launched a province-wide Healthy Communities Need Clean Air Contest as a way of engaging young people in Alberta to learn about air quality issues.

Students aged 6-13 are invited to use their creativity (draw, write, take a picture, make a video, etc.) to share what they’ve learned about air quality. Prize winners will be announced on Clean Air Day, June 3.

Garage sales, outdoor courts, fire pits, relaunch strategy

Following Thursday’s announcement by the Provincial Government on Alberta’s relaunch strategy, The City of Fort Saskatchewan administration and Council will be evaluating the impacts of the strategy and act accordingly.
