March 19 COVID-19 Update

City Council will hold a special meeting on Monday, March 23 at 9:00am in Council Chambers. The meeting will be available via live streaming on the City’s website and attendance in person is not recommended.

Following the announcement by the provincial government on Tuesday, March 17, The City of Fort Saskatchewan Culture and Recreation facilities are closed indefinitely.
The facility closure includes the Dow Centennial Centre’s recreation and culture amenities including the fitness centre, soccer field, gymnasium and ice arena, childminding and indoor play centre. The City of Fort Saskatchewan held a special Council Meeting on Monday, March 16 for the purpose of discussing the City’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Council made the decision to cancel the March 17 and March 24 Council meetings. All business from those agendas will be moved to future Council meetings. This allows us to spend the next few weeks focus on making operational changes.

City culture and recreation facilities closing effective March 15
The City of Fort Saskatchewan is closing all recreation and culture facilities effective 5:30 a.m. Sunday, March 15 for a duration of two weeks.
