Tourism Hosting Grant Awarded to Fort Saskatchewan Baseball

The Fort Saskatchewan Minor Baseball has been awarded $3,000 for hosting the upcoming U11 Mosquito and U18 Midget Red Sox Provincials this summer. The Red Sox Mosquito will be held July 29 – 29 at Turner Park Diamond. The Red Sox Midget will be held August 2 – 4 at Legion Baseball 1. Both Provincial tournaments will have teams representing different districts across the province.

Did you know Alberta has the largest DED-free American elm stand in the world, worth over one billion dollars? Did you also know we’re at risk of losing it ALL to Dutch Elm Disease? We need your help to save our beautiful elm trees from this deadly disease.
What is Dutch Elm Disease (DED)?
DED is caused by a fungus that clogs the elm tree's water conducting system, and causes it to die. The fungus is primarily spread from one elm tree to another by three species of beetles:

Sewer Main Maintenance Program Underway

The City’s infrastructure maintenance program includes flushing sewer mains and performing scope inspections of the sewer lines to ensure they are in good working order.
This year’s program will run from July to September and operators will be working in Bridgeview, Sherridon and Downtown as well as Southpointe, Southfort and Sienna as shown on the following maps.
