Fort Saskatchewan joins Coalition of Inclusive Municipalities

The Coalition of Inclusive Municipalities (CIM) is an initiative calling on municipalities from across Canada to be part of a larger international coalition of cities to combat racism, discrimination, exclusion and intolerance. City Council voted to join the coalition in April and administration is working on an action plan for diversity and inclusion.

Sheep Unavailable Thursday, August 8

Due to the RCMP Musical Ride, the Sheep will not be available to the public on Thursday, August 8th. They will return to their regular schedule on Friday, August 9th.

You can visit the Sheep at the Fort Heritage Precinct, 10006 – 100 Avenue Thursdays to Sundays from 1:00 – 8:00pm.

Preserving and restoring history at the Fort Heritage Precinct

Preserving history this summer has been very literal with restoration work to a number of buildings on the Fort Heritage Precinct site. In June, Dr. T.W.E Henry Residence received new shingles, a coat of paint, and window restoration.

Work begins toady on the Warden’s Residence which acts as the administration and admissions building for the Precinct. Wooden shakes will be replaced on the house and the garage but, the biggest change for the building will be a new coat of paint. Anyone with a good...

Digital copies of the Lesiure Guide are available for download at fortsask.ca/leisureguide. Your printed copies will be delivered with the Fort Saskatchewan Record on August 8. Extra printed copies are also available for pick-up at City Hall, Dow Centennial Centre and Harbour Pool.

The Fort Saskatchewan skatepark expansion is now open for use.  Participants are asked to stay away from the snow fenced area to allow the new sod to set.  To celebrate this much anticipated expanded park, The City of Fort Saskatchewan and the Fort Saskatchewan Skateboard Society are excited to host a Grand Opening on Saturday, September 14.
