Legacy Park Family Festival 2019 event a huge success

The 2019 Legacy Park Family Festival on Saturday, June 1 was a huge success attracting approximately 1,500 people this year. The weather cleared up and certainly contributed to what was a great day in Legacy Park.

June is Recreation and Parks Month (JRPM) is a nationwide celebration that educates people on the health benefits of recreation and engages them in physical activity. The City of Fort Saskatchewan is excited to celebrate JRPM.
“Fort Saskatchewan is very fortunate to have a variety of recreation and parks systems. Recreational activities enhance quality of life of all our residents and visitors. Rain or shine, there's always plenty to do in the City,” says Mayor Gale Katchur.

Our city is expected to grow to 50,000 people by the year 2045. Now is the time to plan how we want to grow! This work is done through the Municipal Development Plan (MDP) which will guide the next 25 years of our community.
We're looking for participants for our upcoming MDP workshops:

Return of the Sheep on June 1st

The Legacy Park Family Festival returns on June 1. Celebrating 27 years of grazing in Fort Saskatchewan, we officially welcome back our beloved SHEEP! Our sheep friends will begin arriving at 11:30 am. Come say hello to our flock as they parade up from the river valley trail system to their summer home at the Fort Heritage Precinct.
