YouthFest 2019 Empowers Local Youth

Youth ages 15-24 years-old are encouraged to try something new, and learn more about the community.

YouthFest 2019 kicks-off on June 1, 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at Legacy Park! It’s a FREE event for all ages, but mainly focused on encouraging youth ages 15-24 years-old to try out a variety of different art forms, explore the Art Walk and engage in the community

Grants for Non-Profit Organizations

The City of Fort Saskatchewan recognizes the important contributions our local non-profit organizations make to our community. If you are a local non-profit and have a community program, event or initiative that you would like to have considered for funding, you may submit a grant application to the City for consideration in the 2020 budget year.

Grant applications will be accepted until June 15th. You can submit your application by mail, email or drop off to City Hall during regular business hours.

Consumer Intercept Survey May 7-11

The City of Fort Saskatchewan will conduct a Consumer Intercept Survey from May 7 to 11 to provide residents the opportunity to have their say on retail shopping in Fort Saskatchewan. Surveyors will be on site at the Dow Centennial Centre, Cornerstone Shopping Centre and throughout Downtown.

2019 Property Tax Bylaw passed

City Council passed the 2018 Property Tax Bylaw at the April 23 regular council meeting. The property tax bylaw is based on the City’s 2019 approved operating budget of $78.5 million and a capital budget of $ 14.2 million approved by Council on December 11, 2018.

The tax bylaw includes two adjustments made to the budget in 2019. Council approved a revenue increase of $32,542 to the City’s Fees and Charges and a $50,000 adjustment to reduce the projected salary/wages budget to align with the compensation...

Tourism Hosting Grant Awarded to Rotary Club of Fort Saskatchewan

The Rotary Club of Fort Saskatchewan has been awarded $5,000 for hosting the upcoming RCMP Musical Ride this summer. This event will be held at the Rotary Amphitheatre located in the Heritage Precinct from August 8, 2019. The Musical Ride is a full troop up to 32 horses and riders that perform intricate figures and drills that are choreographed to music. The riders act as ambassadors of goodwill who promote the RCMP image throughout Canada and all over the world.
