Council Approves 5.40% Municipal Property Tax Increase for 2025

City Council passed the 2025 Property Tax Bylaw at the May 13 regular Council meeting. The bylaw is based on the City’s approved 2025 operating budget of $100.2 million and a capital budget of $14.2 million.

The City of Fort Saskatchewan is inviting residents to help shape the future of Pryce Alderson Park by voting on the playground’s replacement design. The update comes as the existing equipment has reached the end of its lifecycle and is due for replacement.

Fort Saskatchewan Launches Green Organic Cart Waste Education & Audit Program

The City of Fort Saskatchewan is launching the 2025 curbside waste education & audit program starting May 12, with a focus on green organic carts. The program runs throughout the spring and summer.

As part of the initiative, Waste Educators will be conducting quick visual inspections of green organic carts on collection days. Heavily contaminated carts will be rejected or subjected to a fine as per the Waste Bylaw (C16 -18).
