COVID-19 Update – New Provincial Restrictions Announced

In response to the rapidly rising cases of COVID-19 in Alberta and particularly in the Edmonton and Calgary regions, the province announced further measures today.

All municipalities in a watch status (more than 50 cases/100,000 people which the City of Fort Saskatchewan currently falls under), are now be subject to the same restrictions as Edmonton and Calgary. This includes:

At the October 27, 2020 Regular Council meeting, Council passed a bylaw amendment to waive the annual renewal fee for resident business licences in 2021. The decision was made to further assist local businesses who were forced to shut-down or saw sharp decreases in revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

New Live Air Quality Data Interactive Map Launched

Fort Air Partnership (FAP) has just launched a new Live Air Quality Data site. It features an interactive map that enables users to access hourly measurements in near real time from any of the local Airshed’s 10 continuous ambient air monitoring stations, as well as monthly results from its 16 passive monitors.
