Residential Duplex Fire

The City of Fort Saskatchewan Fire Department was alerted of a fire at 12:53 am at the Sienna neighbourhood. The fire crews arrived on scene within seven minutes at 1:00 am at 51 & 52 Catalina Court. Upon arrival, the fire was raging on the backside, roof and attic space of both homes.

Both homes of the duplex suffered significant fire damage. The better part of each unit’s occupancy was destroyed by the fire with an estimated loss worth in excess of $750,000. A third neighbouring home suffered...

Fort Saskatchewan Temporary Mandatory Face Covering Bylaw remains in effect despite drop in active cases

Alberta Health Services confirmed today that Fort Saskatchewan has less than 10 active cases of COVID-19. Although Council set a threshold of above 10 cases to trigger the Mandatory Face Covering Bylaw C29-20 , residents should be aware that there are no provisions in the Bylaw to have it expire based on active case counts. The Bylaw states that all persons age 10 and older must wear an approved face covering when visiting an indoor public facility including public transportation....

Temporary Mandatory Face Covering Bylaw in effect for Fort Saskatchewan

Alberta Health Services confirmed today that Fort Saskatchewan has 15 active cases of COVID-19 thereby triggering the Mandatory Face Covering Bylaw C29-20 approved by Council on August 4. This applies to all individuals age 10 and over unless they meet exemption criteria.
