Council debates temporary mandatory face covering bylaw for Fort Saskatchewan

As part of the City of Fort Saskatchewan’s ongoing efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 and keep the community and staff safe, City Council today debated Bylaw C29-20 establishing mandatory face coverings for people inside all public buildings, transit buses and enclosed bus shelters, and other forms of public transportation for hire effective August 10, 2020.

Council calls special meeting August 4th to discuss mandatory face covering Bylaw

In accordance with Council Meeting Procedures Bylaw C11-18, a Special Meeting of Council is being called for August 4th, 2020 at 2:00 PM, and will be conducted by electronic communications through WebEx.

The purpose of the special meeting of Council is:

 1)  To provide an update on COVID 19 pandemic and related matters; and

 2)  To consider a mandatory masking/face covering bylaw.

Fort Saskatchewan’s Shepherds Retire to Greener Pastures

For twenty-eight years, Kathy and Ralph Playdon’s flock of Finnsheep have been an essential part of a Fort Saskatchewan summer. This year, however, marks the last year City residents will see the Brightbank Finnsheep shepherds and their woolly lawnmowers in the City of Fort Saskatchewan. Kendell is an incredibly kind and generous person. Since moving into SouthPointe, he has taken it upon himself to shovel snow for everyone in our four-plex of townhouses (as well as others) during the winter, and mow everyone's lawns in the summer.
