Local artist selected for the 2020 Art in Public Places Program

The City of Fort Saskatchewan is thrilled to announce the artwork and artist selected for the 2020 Art in Public Places Program.

“The submissions received for 2020 demonstrate the varied talent that is here in Fort Saskatchewan. The Art in Public Places Program is one way in which we can celebrate and foster a love of the arts and of local artists,” explains Mayor Gale Katchur.

City services impacted by new Provincial Health Orders

The City of Fort Saskatchewan will be closing recreation and meeting facilities to meet the latest Provincial Health Order announced on Tuesday, December 8th.

Council approves 2021 Operating and Capital Budgets

City Council approved the 2021 Operating budget at $78.8 million and the 2021 Capital budget at $9.7 million at the Tuesday December 8, 2020 Council meeting. During the November budget deliberations meetings, Council passed motions which effectively reduced the 2021 proposed operating budget by $274,490.

The revenue sources for the City’s Operating budget includes property taxes, utility rates, fines, user fees, grants, and investment income. Capital projects are primarily funded through capital reserves...
