Live music is back baby! It’s been a long two years since the City has celebrated with a live Canada Day concert due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After successful virtual and modified Canada Day events, The City is pumped that Canada Day 2022 is live and in person.

After a busy day of activities for all ages in Legacy Park, the evening entertainment takes the stage at 7 p.m. with a powerhouse, all-Canadian lineup that is sure to entertain. Keep up-to-date on all the activities...

Taxes – like High School Graduation – come each June

Most of you need no reminder that your property taxes are due by midnight on June 30th.

This is the money needed to run the Fire Department, Public Works Department, Municipal Enforcement, Culture and Recreation, etc. Back in 2014, we asked some Grade 4 students to talk about taxes. That was eight years ago which means these bright and engaged students are graduating High School this year.

New Development Incentives for Downtown Announced

At the May 24, 2022 meeting, Fort Saskatchewan City Council voted unanimously in favour of establishing two new incentives to encourage residential development in the city’s downtown core; a Brownfield Tax Exemption and a Downtown Development Grant. The Downtown Action Plan, adopted by Council in July of 2021, identifies residential development as a key priority to supporting businesses in the area, and included the creation of development incentives among its 23 recommendations.

Clean Air Day is June 8!

Fort Air Partnership (FAP), the organization that monitors the air local residents breathe, encourages everyone to celebrate Clean Air Day in Canada on June 8 at 11 a.m. MST.

The day is a reminder of the importance of clean air and the role everyone can play in keeping local air quality as healthy as possible. In 1999, Canada declared Clean Air Day an annual celebration during Canadian Environment Week.
