George and Kathy Mandryk | Pineview

The Mandryk’s are the most wonderful people and the best neighbours. Kathy and I exchange the same box filled with goodies and the box is never returned empty. We enjoy coffee on each other’s decks during the summer and visit often throughout the year. George is so very handy and no matter what challenges we come up against he is always willing to help us any way he can. When 2020 came around they offered their cabin for weekend getaways. Tourism Hosting Grant Awards

Three upcoming events have been awarded grant funding from the City’s Tourism Hosting Grant program. In no particular order, the awardees are:

  • The Wild Rose Old Tyme Fiddlers Association have been awarded $3500 and will be hosting the 2022 Grand North American Old Time Fiddle Championships on July 14 to 17, 2022 at the Shell Theatre. This Fiddle contest is expecting a crowd of 400 - 500 people attend over the course of the weekend with competitors coming from across Alberta and Western Provinces.

City Response to provincial announcement of Step 2 easing of Health Regulations

Saturday, the province announced it will progress to Step 2 and ease Provincial Health Regulations effective March 1. For City facilities, this means patrons will not be required to wear a mask in our buildings.

Strategic Plan Update

A new City Council was elected in October 2021 and one of the first orders of business for them was to approve the 2022 Operating and Capital budgets. Part of the 2022 Operating Budget included funding for public engagement to help inform the 2023 – 2026 Strategic Plan. Review the current 2018-2022 Strategic Plan.
