2022 Third Quarter Air Quality Monitoring Results Released

Fort Air Partnership (FAP), the organization that monitors the air local residents breathe, released 2022 third quarter Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) results today. The Government of Alberta calculates the AQHI using data collected at seven of FAP’s air monitoring stations.

Results show that the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) ratings were in the low risk category between 91.91% to 96.19% of the time during the third quarter. There were 99 hours of high and 3 hours of very high AQHI ratings for...

Sirens to be tested on Thursday, October 6 and Friday, October 7

The citywide emergency siren system will be activated on Thursday, October 6 and Friday, October 7 between 9:00 am - 2:00 pm for annual maintenance.

Fort Saskatchewan operates three emergency sirens located across the city. These sirens are in place to alert residents of emergencies, such as:

  • Severe weather events, including droughts, windstorms, snow or ice storms, hail, rainstorms or tornadoes;
