On June 11, nine municipalities in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region submitted a joint application to the Province of Alberta formally seeking the establishment of a Regional Transit Services Commission (RTSC): City of Beaumont, Town of Devon, City of Edmonton, City of Fort Saskatchewan, City of Leduc, Town of Morinville, City of Spruce Grove, City of St. Albert and Town of Stony Plain.

Stage 2 re-opening plans for City facilities

On Thursday, June 9th the Premier of Alberta announced that Stage 2 of the provincial relaunch plan would be enacted today. The provincial announcement also established that some services scheduled to reopen in Stage 3 of the relaunch plan will open in Stage 2 such as recreation centres, arenas, indoor pools, and theatres. Libraries are also scheduled to open as planned in Stage 2 and details will be provided by the Fort Saskatchewan Public Library.

The City of Fort Saskatchewan is pleased to offer a second session of outdoor fitness classes in July. Registration is open online starting Thursday, June 11 at fortsask.ca/GoLesiure

Skatepark access road to get repaved

As part of the 2020 Local Road Rehab program, The City is repaving the access road and parking stall areas in front of the Skatepark. See picture below.

The scope of work is just a simple removal of the top layer of asphalt and repaving. The road will not be completed closed, but parking will not be permitted within the area shown in red outline. The contractor is scheduled to begin work later this week and the work should be completed by June 19, weather permitting.
