The City of Fort Saskatchewan endeavours to keep residents and visitors up-to-date about ongoing City construction projects.

112th Street Widening

•  Design work to widen 112th Street from Hwy 15 to 99 Ave will take place in 2020. Construction deferred to 2021.

Bulk Water Modernization

•   Design is underway and construction to take place this summer

Dog Kennel

•  Dog Kennel will be located at the Protective Services Building
•  Contractor has been selected and work has started. Work is expected to be complete in August.

Hwy 15 & 119 Street Intersection

•   Design is being finalized and construction to take place this summer

Highway 15 Bridge Twinning

•  Alberta Transportation is leading this project
•  Work continues on the west side of the North Saskatchewan River
•  Work will start on the portion of Hwy 15 within the City of Fort Saskatchewan limits the week of April 20th. Work is expected to take 6 months
•  Fort Centre Park Trail Closures in effect August 26, 2019 - October 1, 2022

Local Road Rehab

•  Project locations for the 2020 Local Road Rehab program have been finalized.
•  Contractor has been selected. The schedule is being finalized.

Neighbourhood Rehab – 101 Street

•  Work to replace water, sewer and road infrastructure from 101 Ave to 99 Ave
•  Work has been deferred to 2021

Neighbourhood Rehab – 108 Street

•  Design work to replace water, sewer and road infrastructure on 108 Street from 101 Ave to the end of 108 Street will start in 2020. Construction is scheduled for 2021.

Pointe Aux Pins Road Widening

•  The project will widen Point Aux Pins road from Wilshire Blvd to Range Road 231. This will bring the road up to the City’s urban standard and provide an asphalt trail on the north side of the road.
•  Design work is underway with construction anticipated to start in the summer

Sportsplex Ice Plant Replacement

•  Contractor has been hired to replace the ice plant. Work scheduled to take place in August

Southview Way Road Extension

•  Southview Way is located between Heartland Ford and the future Fire Hall. The road will be extended approximately 120m to the South
•  Design is complete and contractor has been hired. Work is expected to start after the May long weekend.

Sump Pump Retrofit Program

•   Work has been deferred to 2021

Veterans Way Corridor Widening

•  Design work to widen the first section of the Veterans Way Corridor from 4 lanes to 6 lanes will take place in 2020.
