Please be Extra Cautious When Using Alley Ways

Did you know alley parking is not allowed in Fort Saskatchewan?  You can only park a vehicle in an alley if you’re loading or unloading and if your vehicle isn’t obstructing access to others using the alley.

Parking in an alley can make it difficult for:

  • neighbours to access or leave their properties
  • emergency vehicles to access places bordering the alley
  • City crews removing snow from an alley

“The speed in a alley way is 20 km/hr in Fort Saskatchewan” said Maryjo Webster, Acting Supervior of Municipal Enforcement,“With summer here, there are more people outside that could potentially be in the back alley, we are reminding everyone to be extra cautious.”

Parking in an alley could lead to a $100 fine and having the vehicle towed at the owner’s expense. Next time you’re thinking of parking in an alley, please ask yourself “Can my neighbours and emergency vehicles get through easily and safely?”

Thank you for keeping our alleys clear and our communities safe.

Fort Saskatchewan is a Vision Zero community and asks, “What are you doing to make our roads safer?” For more information on Vision Zero please visit fortsask.ca/visionzero
