Weekly green cart collection starts May 3, 2021

Southfort Meadows Stage 7 Rezoning

An application to rezone lands in the Southfort Meadows neighbourhood has been submitted by Al-Terra Engineering Ltd. on behalf of Southfort Development Corp. The application rezones lands from:

  •  UR - Urban Reserve to R1 - Single Detached Residential District, and
  •  UR - Urban Reserve to PR - Parks and Recreation District.

Schedule A - Bylaw C12-21

The R1 - Single Detached Residential District provides for single-detached housing. The R1 District would be applied to 1.04 ha (2.57 ac) of lands.

The PR - Parks & Recreation District is being applied to a 0.02 ha (200m2) lot. This lot will provide a trail connection from Hummingbird Crescent to the storm water ponds to the north.

Notice of Annexation

The City is proposing to annex a portion of Range Road 223 adjacent to the Western boundary of Section 34-54-22-W4 from Strathcona County.

The City of Fort Saskatchewan Council, at their March 23, 2021 council meeting, approved that the City file a notice of intent to annex a portion of Range Road 223.

The City and Strathcona County support this annexation request as it provides the greatest certainty and clarity for adjacent property owners and both municipalities for the long term management and operations for this portion of Range Road 223. 

The City is asking if you have any comments or concerns to please provide them in writing by May 1, 2021 to:

Fort Sask Transit service update

Route 580 service to Edmonton’s Clareview Station will see reduced service starting April 26, 2021 until further notice. The service will be reduced from 13 to 4 hours per day. The four (4) departure times from Clareview LRT Station that will remain from the current schedule are:

 •  5:26 am
 •  6:24 am
 •  5:38 pm
 •  6:40 pm

There will be no changes to fares or routing at this time. We are monitoring the current situation to determine when to resume normal service.
