City starting outdoor recreation classes June 1st

Outdoor recreation is included in Stage 1 of the Alberta Relaunch Strategy, and The City of Fort Saskatchewan is pleased to announce that registered outdoor fitness classes are set to start on June 1st. Registration will open online starting Monday, May 25th via GoLeisure at fortsask.ca/GoLeisure.

“This is great news for all those folks who have been missing their registered fitness classes since the facilities closed in March. Things may look a little different but it is a new adventure and we can’t wait to get started,” explained Diane Yanch, Culture and Recreation Director.

 •   Speed - Power – Strength
 •   Outdoor Yoga
 •   Tough Turf
 •   Cardio Core & More
 •   Turf HIIT
 •   EMOM (Every Minute On the Minute)
 •   Field of Fit Dreams
 •   EDGE: Endurance-Discipline-Goals-Extreme
 •   Run Training plus Fitness Training (18yrs+)
 •   Total Body Toning

Classes will take place at West River’s Edge and Taurus Field to allow for physical distancing; 2m separation between each participant and between participants and the instructor. All participants must arrive prepared for class as no change rooms or equipment will be provided. To limit exposure, participants will be asked to arrive 10 minutes before the start of class and to leave right after. For the safety of everyone, each participant will be asked screening questions about their health and if they have travelled outside of country. If it rains, classes will be cancelled.
