Update: Restriction Exemption Program for City of Fort Saskatchewan

Posted On Friday September 17, 2021

The City of Fort Saskatchewan will be adjusting access to City facilities to comply with the Provincial Health Orders announced on September 15, 2021.

Effective September 20, the City will implement a Restrictions Exemption Program requiring proof of vaccination or negative test result to enter a City facility including recreation and administration buildings.

With further clarification from the Province, the program will not apply to City Hall, the Protective Services building that houses Municipal Enforcement and the RCMP, or the James E. Graham building. Also, the REP will not apply to anyone entering a City facility to participate in the Federal election on September 20th.

To enter spaces participating in the Restrictions Exemption Program, people ages 12 and older can provide proof of vaccination, documentation of a medical exemption or a privately obtained COVID test showing a negative result in the last 72 hours.

The City will provide updates as they become available from the Province.

More information on the new Provincial Health Orders and where to obtain your vaccination record can be found on the Govenment of Alberta website. As more information becomes available from the province, we will post additional details at fortsask.ca.
