Don’t be sheepish about using our first roundabout

Posted On Friday October 25, 2019

It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s a sheep? Fort Saskatchewan’s first roundabout, located at 94 Street and Southpointe / Sienna Boulevards will open next week. The large concrete island created by the roundabout was the perfect location to show everyone what Fort Saskatchewan is all about. A large painted sheep adorns the circle and will be highly visible from the satellite once our area is updated on Google Maps™.

In all seriousness, the roundabout will provide a smooth transition for traffic as the route is the main connection between the Southpointe and Sienna neighbourhoods, and provides residents with access to the commercial areas to the north. This new intersection will also provide direct access to Southpointe School from 94 Street.

Traffic in a roundabout moves in a counter clockwise direction around a central island. Vehicles entering the roundabout must yield to traffic already in the roundabout.
