Public Hearings

Due to COVID19 physical distancing practices, public access for the Council meeting Public Hearings will be available through electronic communications. The Public Hearings for Bylaws C2-20, C14-20, C21-20 and C22-20 will be held on:

Closure of Road Right-of-Way West River's Edge Park

Public Hearing for Bylaw C2-20

An application to close a portion of road right-of-way has been submitted by WSP Inc. The road right-of-way is on the east edge of West River’s Edge Park. The road right-of-way is currently vacant land and is not being used for road purposes. Bylaw C2-20 would close the road right-of-way, so the lands could be utilized as Park and Public Utility.

Windsor Pointe - Proposal to Redistrict Lands to Park & Public Utility

Public Hearing for Bylaw C14-20

In accordance with the Westpark Area Structure Plan, WSP Inc. is proposing to redistrict lands to Park & Recreation District (PR), and Public Utility District (PU) in Windsor Pointe. This redistricting would zone lands for a 1.107 ha (2.735 ac) neighbourhood park south of Wingate Way.

Westpark Semi-Detached & Duplex Residential District Land Use Bylaw Amendment

Public Hearing Notice for Bylaw C22-20

A Land Use Bylaw amendment application has been submitted by Landrex Inc. and Qualico Communities. This application is to add a DC(A)-15 Westpark Semi-Detached and Duplex Residential District to the Land Use Bylaw. This district allows for semi-detached housing and duplexes with reduced side yard setbacks and enhanced architectural standards.

Bylaw C22-20 would redistrict (rezone) lands in the following locations:

1. Windsor Pointe Stages 3, 4 from UR- Urban Reserve to DC(A)-15- Westpark Semi-Detached and Duplex Residential District (part of NW/SW 24-54-23 W4M)

2. Forest Ridge Stage 11B from R3- Small Lot Residential District to DC(A)-15-Westpark Semi-Detached and Duplex Residential District (Lot: B, Block: 25, Plan 0426931)

This application is for low-density residential development in accordance with the approved Westpark Area Structure Plan.

Mixed Low Density Residential Distrcit Land Use Bylaw Amendment

Public Hearing Notice for Bylaw C21-20

A Land Use Bylaw amendment application has been submitted by Landrex Inc. and Qualico Communities. This application is to add a DC(A)-14 Mixed Low Density Residential District to the Land Use Bylaw. This district allows for a range of housing types including single detached housing, semi-detached housing, and multi-attached housing under certain conditions.

Bylaw C21-20 would redistrict (rezone) lands in the following locations:

1. Windsor Pointe Stages 3, 4 from UR- Urban Reserve to DC(A)-14- Mixed Low Density Residential District (part of NW/SW 24-54-23 W4M)

2. Forest Ridge Stage 11B from R3- Small Lot Residential District to DC(A)-14- Mixed Low Density Residential District (Lot: B, Block: 25, Plan 0426931)

3. Sienna Stage 7B from UR- Urban Reserve to DC(A)-14- Mixed Low Density Residential District (part of NE1/4-20-54-22-W4M)

This application is for low-density residential development in accordance with the approved Westpark and Southfort Area Structure Plans.


 


Waste & Recycling

Collection Event Postponements

We are working to increase social distancing so we can limit the spread of COVID-19 and help flatten the curve. To ensure social distancing guidelines are met, the following collection events are being postponed:

•  Large Item Collection – will now take place July 13-17
•  Toxic Round Up (date to be decided)

Extra Yard Waste Collection Event

When: May 25-29
Who: Any household currently receiving curbside organics collection

•  Residents are able to place an unlimited amount of extra yard waste out for collection on their regular collection day between May 25 and May 29. This is in addition to the contents in their green organics cart.
•  Extra yard waste must be placed in brown paper yard waste bags (found at most hardware stores) and placed out for collection by 7am on collection day. Yard waste in plastic or biodegradable bags will not be collected.
•  Yard waste items include (but are not limited to) grass, leaves, small twigs/branches, waste from fruit-bearing trees and garden trimmings.


 


FST Fares Temporarily Suspended

Service on FST local routes and ETS Route 580 to Clareview is FREE.

Refunds and Reimbursements

Customers who have already purchased their April passes through retailers, will have options to exchange their April pass for a future monthly pass at City Facilities once they resume regular operations, or request a refund.

Local Service Reduced and Saturday Added

Since April 14, our transit service changed to hourly on weekdays and introduced Saturday service until June 28, 2020. Please refer to the revised schedule on our website or track the buses in real-time by downloading the Passio GO app from the Apple Store or Google Play.
