Fort Saskatchewan's new Draft Municipal Development Plan (MDP) is ready for you!

The City’s Municipal Development Plan is a high-level, long range plan that will guide the growth and development in the city as our population grows to 50,000. Thank you to all the residents that have participated in shaping the Plan to date. After almost 4400 resident responses over several engagements, the Plan is in its final stages and ready for your review.

The Plan will be available online to review from September 10 to 27. Please visit fortsask.ca/mdp.

If you wish to review the Plan in person, with staff available to answer any questions, you can attend an MDP Open House being held in the Lions Mane Room of the Dow Centennial Centre, 8700 84 St, Fort Saskatchewan:

September 24, 3:30pm to 8:00pm
September 25, 10:00am to 2:00pm

Social distancing will be maintained throughout the Open House and Masks will be mandatory. If you have been out of the country in the past 14 days, been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive to COVID-19, or are experiencing any symptoms, please do not attend the Open House. We invite you to provide your feedback online.

Harbour Pool News

The Harbour Pool re-opened this week on September 8:

 •  Offering: Public Swims (Max. 50), Aqua Fitness Classes (Max. 10), Lane Swim (1 person per lane, unless cohort/family), Parent and Tot Swim (Max. 50) and Swimming Lessons.

 •  Patrons are required to come dressed in swimming attire — no locker use available at this time, storage bins will be provided.

 •  To allow for one-way traffic and a variety of activities all change spaces are now universal.

 •  Regular admission and membership fees are in effect.

 •  Masks required in all City facilities – masks are to be removed once on the pool deck and entering water for scheduled activity.

 •  Cleansing showers are strongly encouraged before entering the water for activities.

 •  Prolonged grooming and use of hair driers will not be permitted. (Exit time limit: 15 min or less)

 •  Limited viewing/spectator seating available.

 •  Whirl Pool and Sauna remain closed as per AHS guidelines at this time.

 •  Schedule and facility admission are subject to change based on demand.

Policing Committee Meetings

The Policing Committee provides civilian oversight to the provision of efficient and effective policing in your community. If you have any concerns, comments or suggestions related to policing matters in your neighbourhood, feel free to attend the meetings to share your voice.

FST Announcements

Effective September 18, 2020, the Green Route (local route 584) will no longer be available.

Since September 1, 2020, local routes 582 and 583 are operating back to their regular schedule - Monday to Friday on a 30-minute frequency all day, and 60-minute frequency from 8:23 am to 1:26 pm. Saturday service is no longer available.
