A Compliance Certificate is confirmation from the City of Fort Saskatchewan that the siting of buildings on your property meets the Land Use Bylaw requirements.  A Compliance Certificate is is based on a Real Property Report, which can be prepared by a private survey company

A Compliance Certificate is typically a condition of sale required by either the purchaser or the lender.  The City of Fort Saskatchewan does not require Compliance Certificates, but offers Compliance Certificates as an optional service. 

Compliance Certificate requests can be applied for with Planning & Development Services, located on the 2nd floor of City Hall (10005 102 Street).  When requesting a Compliance Certificate you must provide:

  • Compliance Certificate Request form
  • 2 original Real Property Reports
  • Copy of Certificate of Title
  • All required fees as specified in the Fees & Charges Bylaw

To receive a timely decision on your request, please ensure your application is clear, legible and complete.  Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
