Export Development Incentive
The Export Development Incentive is designed to assist Resident Small Businesses gain access to international markets for their products and services.
*Applicants must provide either, proof of acceptance into or payment from a recognized provincial or federal government export development program to be eligible.
Successful applications will receive the funding after travel has concluded.
Objectives
This program aims to achieve the following:
- Identify and pursue markets outside Edmonton Metropolitan Region to increase sales and profits
- Assist business diversify their customer base
- Increase the scope of local businesses, making them more competitive
Funding
This incentive will cover up to 50% of eligible costs, to a maximum of $5000 towards a recognized provincial or federal government export development program.
Eligibility
- The Applicant must meet the following minimum requirements to be eligible to apply for the Export Development Incentive:
- Must be a Resident Business within the City;
- Must possess a valid Business Licence;
- Applicant must be the business owner or their legal representative;
- Applicant must be a Small Business; and
- Applicant must provide either, proof of acceptance into or payment from a recognized provincial or federal government export development program.
- Applicants, property, and businesses are eligible to receive no more than 3 Export Development Incentives within a 5 year period.
