DEI for Business Owners
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are important to understand and commit to in an effort to create a community, and a business, where everyone is welcome and belongs.
A better approach.
Increasing your business' understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion will have a huge impact both short term and long term.
There are many things to consider when looking through an inclusive lens. It can be overwhelming to think about where to start. Here are some questions we can all ask ourselves when considering if our business, program or event is inclusive:
- Is your promotional material easy to read and understand?
- Is your physical space accessible to people with diverse abilities?
- Are you able to offer customers a place to sit, should that be required?
- Is there an opportunity to partner with an agency or business that may bring additional knowledge or points of view to your work?
- Are your programs or hours flexible enough to accommodate the needs of diverse populations?
- Do you consider inclusion of diverse populations in your planning or ordering?
