A tax certificate provides the roll number, legal description, property address, levy, current balance, arrears, utility account balance, and the Monthly Tax Payment Plan amount.
How do I order a tax certificate?
Requests must be made in writing on your company letterhead and emailed to the tax department: finance@fortsask.ca.
Tax certificates are emailed within 48 hours of the request.
How much does a tax certificate cost?
A tax certificate is $36.50.

To obtain a legal description and assessment information please use our online property search, iMap.
The City of Fort Saskatchewan uses a program called iMap to provide information on properties within municipal boundaries. By using this program, you can search for your property, find out the land use district (zoning) of your property and those around it, and access other important information such as your assessment or past and present permits.
Before using iMap, we highly recommend reading through the following instructions.
Using iMap

- Access iMap.
- Chose the public access option.
- Agree to the disclaimer on the next page.
- Select the 'Search' tab from the top left-hand side of the page.
- Select the search group you wish to search by from the drop-down menu. Your options are:
- Civic Address: Street Name and Address
- Legal Description: Plan, Block, Lot or Long Legal, or
- Named Place: ex. City Hall
- If searching by Civic Address, enter the first few letters/numbers of your street name and click 'Go'.
- From the Street Name drop-down menu, select the full name of your street. iMap uses abbreviations for its' street names. Common ones you may encounter are:

- Your selection will tabulate the address drop-down menu. From that menu select your house number and click 'Search'.
- iMap will find and zoom to your property. Your lot will be highlighted with a star.
- To find more information about your property, click on your lot. A separate window will open which will tell you your legal land description, tax roll number, land use district (zoning), and assessments. You can also find information about any past and present permits here.
