2021 budget deliberations start November 16

The City of Fort Saskatchewan’s proposed operating budget for 2021 goes to City Council for deliberations starting Monday, November 16 at 9:00 a.m.

“Administration proposes a 2021 budget that strikes a balance between responding to short-terms impacts from the pandemic to the City’s operating revenues while staying positioned for recovery and maintaining a strong commitment to supporting our core infrastructure, community safety and critical services,” says Chief Financial Officer Jeremy Emann.

The City continues its advancement of Priority Based Budgeting (PBB) and program costing which provides a better understanding of City programs and how they align with community priorities. The presentation of the budget document and program displays is designed to enhance communication of the budget through improved readability and transparency.

Budget deliberations will continue on November 18, 24 and 26 as needed. All meetings will be held virtually and live streamed on the City of Fort Saskatchewan YouTube Channel.
