Annual Lights Up! Celebration returns

The 2020 edition of Lights Up! will take place on November 27 between 11:00 am and 5:30 pm. The event will look slightly different then in previous years.

All of the activities this year will be taking place at the North West Mounted Police Fort located at the Fort Heritage Precinct. Say hello and take a socially distanced picture with Saint Nick, cozy up by the fire pits, visit the model train display, snap a photo at our photobooth, and grab a cookie and hot chocolate on your way out.

“Due to the pandemic, switching locations from City Hall to the Fort Heritage Precinct gives us the best opportunity to provide our city patrons with a COVID-safe event. The Fort allows us to spread out the activities throughout the different buildings and create ample space for people to move around without being in contact with others!” added Arthur Lewandowski, the Community Events and Tourism Specialist with the City of Fort Saskatchewan.

This is a free event, but registration is required to attend. Registration will open at 1:00 pm on November 21, 2020. Visit fortsask.ca/lightsup for more information on how to register. Drop-ins will not be accepted.

In addition, you can watch a pre-recorded video of City Hall being lit up which will premiere on the City of Fort Saskatchewan’s Facebook page on November 27 at 6:00 pm.

Special for this year, the City is partnering up with Dow Canada on an exciting social media contest. Information will become available at the same time on November 27 at 6:00 pm. Follow the City’s Facebook page for details or visit fortsask.ca/lightsup.
