Help us name our new snow plows!

The City’s seeking the help of local children to name four snow plow trucks

We’re excited to announce our Name the Snow Plows Contest!

The contest runs until midnight of February 22 and is open to children ages five to 12 years-old living in Fort Saskatchewan. To enter simply download one of our colouring pages, colour it in, write down your top four names and hand it in to our clerks at the City Hall front desk or email it to rhale@fortsask.ca. Remember to add your contact information too!

“Since most of us are stuck indoors, this is a fun way for kids and the entire community to get involved in choosing the names,” stated Ron Hale Foreman, Facility and Fleet Services. “The fire truck naming contest was so well received, we want to continue this trend well into the future.”

The top 10 names will be chosen by City Staff and then posted as a Facebook poll for residents to vote on. The top four will be announced March 5. The winners will get a special visit from their snow plow truck, a commemorative plaque and opportunity to take photos and get an inside look of the snow plow.

“Everyone at the Public Works department is excited to see the names the kids come up with,” says, Hale. “This is something fun that we hope elementary school teachers and even parents will get involved in.”
