About Shell Theatre

Located in the Sherritt Cultural Pavilion of the Dow Centennial Centre, the Shell Theatre has it all. We host amazing professional series shows, drama productions, music concerts, dance festivals and recitals. Our fully equipped venue seats over 500 people. Tickets for all Performance Series events are available for sale in person at the Dow Centennial Centre front desk or one-hour prior to show time at the Box Office located in the Shell Theatre, by phone at (780) 992-6400 or online at Ticketpro.ca.

Accessibility

Shell Theatre has main floor wheelchair accessible seating available for you. You can request wheelchair accessible seating when ordering your tickets through the Dow Centennial Front desk or by phone at 780-992-6400.

Complimentary Handi-van

We offer a complimentary handi-van service so you can embrace special events at the Shell Theatre in partnership with the Special Transportation Services Society, the City of Fort Saskatchewan, and Shayne Sharp. Getting Here

We are on 8700 84 St, Fort Saskatchewan, just off Highway 21.

We are only a 30-minute drive from downtown Edmonton, and are easily accessible from the Yellowhead highway.

Parking

We have free parking directly outside the main doors of the theatre. If the lot is full, there are plenty of overflow options nearby.

Rental Information

We look forward to hosting your next event at the Shell Theatre! The 538-seat proscenium style Shell Theatre is located in the heart of the Sherritt Cultural Pavilion in the Dow Centennial Centre. This theatre is available for performing arts and you can use it for your next lecture, film, wedding, professional workshop or conference.

Featuring outstanding sightlines to the stage, comfortable main floor and balcony seating, professional sound and lighting, orchestra pit, excellent wheelchair accessibility and hearing impaired sound system - this is the perfect venue for your event!

The elegant lobby can host up to 650 guests and includes a full bar service area, a box office, lovely leather seating and sits next to the beautiful Alberta Lottery Fund Art Gallery. Two ample size dressing rooms along with the Senator Tommy Banks Green Room are inviting and functional plus our professional and experienced staff make it all worthwhile.

Volunteer

Volunteers are a key part of our cultural family here at Shell Theatre. Our volunteers put in countless hours of time helping to ensure every show goes off without a hitch. We welcome volunteers of all ages and experience to join our team. All Front-of-House volunteers for the Shell Theatre alternate between the following positions:

  • Ticket Taker: Ticket takers scan or collect tickets as people enter a performance into the Shell Theatre
  • Usher: Ushers will be knowledgeable of the Shell Theatre seating and will assist patrons to their seats. They may also handout programs and seat latecomers.
  • Lift Operator: Volunteers may assist patrons with mobility issues up and down in the lift
  • Access Control: At times the entrances and exits into the Sherritt Cultural Pavilion or backstage area will be monitored by Access Control.
